View Full Version : Vampiric Rape--Parts I-V

In our society, "rape", by legal definition, requires a forced sexual act. However, by the general definition of the word, it means to "seize prey;Take by force". It is in this definition of "rape" I wish to speak to you today.

It is the belief of some vampires, that because they crave, and since another human has what they crave, it is okay to find one who is weakened, unsuspecting, vulnerable or otherwise unable to resist and to take from that person what they want, without the other's consent. This is what I call vampiric rape. Furthermore, some of these vampires also believe it is their right, and that others who are non-vampiric, are there for their needs. I would like to dispel this rather vulgar notion.

To understand this better, let's delve into the definitions of these words, "rape" and "prey".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape_%28word%29

Originally, the word rape was akin to rapine, rapture, raptor, and rapacious, and referred to the more general violations, such as looting, destruction, and capture of citizens that are inflicted upon a town or country during war, eg. the Rape of Nanking. Today, some dictionaries still define rape to include any serious and destructive assault against a person or community.

English rape was in use since the 14th century in the general sense of "seize prey, take by force," from raper, an Old French legal term for "to seize", in turn from Latin rapere "seize, carry off by force, abduct". The Latin term was also used for sexual violation, but only very rarely. The legendary event known as the "Rape of the Sabine Women", while ultimately motivated sexually, did not entail sexual violation of the Sabine women on the spot, who were rather abducted, and then implored by the Romans to marry them (as opposed to striking a deal with their fathers or brothers first, as would have been required by law).

Though the sexual connotation is today dominant, the word "rape" can be used in non-sexual context in literary English. In "the rape of the Silmarils" in J. R. R. Tolkien's "The Silmarillion", the word "rape" is used with its old meaning of "seizing and taking away". In Alexander Pope's The Rape of the Lock, the word "rape" is used hyperbolically, exaggerating a trivial violation against a person. Compare also the adjective rapacious which retains the generic meaning.

Sometimes, the word rape is used colloquially to dysphemistically describe forms of non-sexual unwelcome conduct ("My team got raped on the field yesterday"), or metaphorically as in "the rape of the Earth" referring to environmental destruction, possibly implying a female gender of the Earth (Gaia). Other than in literary usage discussed above, this use of the term is unrelated to the original sense of "abduction" or "carrying off" and implies a comparison with sexual violation. In "The Rape of Nanking" actual mass rape and mass murder is summarized by naming the city as the object of the rape.

By the very definition of the word "rape" the subject of this act, is devalued, depersonalized and without worth outside of provision of needs or desires of the aggressor. They are simply seen as an entity that has what the aggressor wants, and the subject is not considered outside of the provision of the aggressor's desires.

prey (pr) KEY

NOUN:

An animal hunted or caught for food; quarry.
One that is defenseless, especially in the face of attack; a victim.
The act or practice of preying.
intr.v.
preyed , prey·ing , preys
To hunt, catch, or eat as prey: Owls prey on mice.
To victimize or make a profit at someone else's expense.
To plunder or pillage.
To exert a baneful or injurious effect: Remorse preyed on his mind.

The word prey, further demoralizes and degrades that of the subject. In no way, is there any appreciation of the subject, outside of viewing them as a "feed bag". Furthermore, it places the aggressor in the position of a mindless, primal, impulse-driven, and control-lacking animal.

On the assumption that non-vampires may read this, as well as newly awakened vampires and mature vampires, we should establish some base hypotheses. Since the term "real vampires" came into awareness, "real vampires" have been compared to the vampires of mythos, the likes of such as Dracula, Lestat, Nosferatu, and many others. We are often believed to be supernatural, immortal beings that fly, sleep in coffins, are adversely affected by garlic, crosses, holy water, wooden stakes, silver bullets on and on ad infinitum. Because of these associations, Human Mortal Vampires are often reviled, and feared. Yet, the sad fact is that some of our vampire brethren perpetuate this fear, rather justified because of their beliefs and treatment of the non-vampiric community.

The facts as we know them are that vampires as we are discussing, are mortal humans who have a need for energy replentishment, be it, sanguine, Psi, Tantric, elemental etc.. It is still hypothesized that whatever the medium of delivery, the needed element is "energy". However, the fact remains that we are still, above all, human. Our anatomy, our physiological make up, our biological make up is exactly the same as any other human, with the exception that we have a "need" for energy replentishment.

Recently I have seen some vampires who have the belief/attitude, that they are some sort of animal--not human at all, and any non-vampire is merely "prey". This attitude translates into the vampire believing that if they cannot find a willing donor, it is their right to find a compromised individual and subdue them and force them to give to the vampire his/her desire. This is contrary and counter-productive to, both, the vampire and the victim.

It is a strong observation, that vampires, no matter the type, are extremely sensitive to emotions, "vibes" and in essence, energies of themselves and those around them. It lends itself to common sense that since what the vampire needs most to feel healthy are energies, that slight changes in these, can affect a vampire intensely. The old saw, "you are what you eat" is also true of vampires. Vampires are, most often, vain, charasmatic, mysterious, attractive, highly intelligent, charming (models may vary) and stong individuals. Most commonly a vampire will require the energies from a feed that will encourage or bolster those traits. The energies coming from a victim who has been subdued, and is in some fashion punctured to allow bleeding, is not going to produce those energies. The vampire will be receiving, confusion, anger, fear, disgust, repulsion, and hatred. There are those who may be saying they particularly enjoy the energies that come from fear. To those I say, find a willing donor who enjoys roleplaying during such feeding activities. Just as there are those who like to roleplay during sex, find someone willing to donate to you, and provide you the fear element. If you've found a donor who enjoys this, you can agree to have them resist you, fight you, do all manner of things as long as both of you give consent.

For your victim, they are left feeling, unsafe, afraid, violated, victimized, untrusting of both others, and theirself. They may now fear they are not able to assess situations in which they may be in danger, they will feel if they are in danger they are ineffective in protecting themselves, they may feel they somehow are at fault for what you did. Congratulations! You just ruined a potential ally and friend, not to mention a possible viable donor. Add further congratulations that this victim is going to talk. They are going to talk to friends, if no one else, but they likely are going to talk to ER personel when they explain how they were harmed and how it came that they need wound cleansing and care, vacinations to prevent disease and infection, Blood testing to rule out contagion of any disease you may have transmitted to them (the mouth is filled with bacteria). If they do go to medical personel for after-care, they're going to be encouraged to speak to mental health personel, and law enforcement and if you're not lucky... the judicial personel. Good going Einstein. You have just contributed to the hatred, fear, and misinformation on the majority of vampires.

Vampiric Rape--Part II

prey (pr) KEY

Let's discuss prey, the connotations of such, as well as discuss the "Food Chain" and "The Circle of Life".

Nature provides for itself, it's true. We have given a name to this ability of nature to provide . We love to give everything a name. We call it "The Circle of Life". Within the Circle of Life, everything feeds off of, or benefits in some means from, all other living organisms. However, because nature provides this freely and at quantities limited only by the existing numbers of said organisms, there has to be some "safeguards", and there are. This brings into existance the hierarchy we call the Food Chain. This states that there are animals that are higher on the chain that have the ability, strength, size, or agility to take benefit or sustanance from other smaller, weaker, or less able to resist, members of the food chain.

Consider, if you will, a large cat, that cat is allowed by nature to hunt, stalk, ambush, and kill any other animal which is a staple of their diet. There is no daily limit to the number they may consume. It's an all you can eat buffet. This, without safeguards, would mean the possible extinction of those animals. If that should happen, then the species of that cat, without any remaining food source, would be in danger of extinction. The loss of the cat species would further jeopardize other members of the food chain... On and on until each member of the food chain would be threatened.

Nature, as I alluded, placed safeguards to inhibit this from occurring. Each of the prey animals are fitted with their own protections. Be they evasive, resistant, camophlage, deceptive, etc, these animals are given these attributes to fight back, or escape capture and consumption. Moreover, some of the prey lives in places that other animals higher on the food chain than the hunter live. While searching for prey, the hunter must beware that he may also now be the hunted. This safeguard determines that the hunter does not always win, that at times, the hunter sometimes becomes the hunted, and the balancing of nature continues.

Nature, while we often believe otherwise, was also designed to avoid suffering as much as possible. Nature did not intend to be cruel or leave lasting scars, or damage to the remaining or surviving prey. Because of this, most animals are not given the full range of emotional and mental acquity as were given to humans. This is because animal (carnivorous animals, at least) were meant to feed on one another. They were equiped with only what they need to survive, and to thrive. Emotions and analytical abilities such as vengeance, entitlement, pride, individuality are not part of the wild animal community in the degree it is to humans. Though it is a matter of contention among experts, it is believed that animals do not suffer the degree of depression and mental defect caused by tramatic events as do humans. Let me say right here, I am not only talking of the prey. The predator who has the tables turned on him/her, may also suffer these adverse effects were it not for nature's design and protection.

A vampire who sees another human as prey, is dealing with a target with the same abilities, agilility, thought capabilities, strategic abilities, size, power, strength, and deviousness, will to prevail, determination in reaching their goal, as the vampire. This greatly limits the vampire and places both him and the prey in seriously imminent danger. The advantage usually permitted to the predator is stripped away, and the predator faces, an equally dangerous foe... add to this that the prey is pissed off, has dangerous and unpredictable posibilities up their "sleeve" AND the prey does not like you! This prey item also has the ability to love, and be loved by others of its species. They are often deceptive as they may appear to be solitary creatures, but rest assured, your prey item is a pack animal. Its pack mates may be nowhere in sight, but once you have harmed him/her, those pack mates will show up in droves. THIS prey item, has other whole organizations of ones just like them who will hunt you down, restrain you, judge you and punish you for harming this prey item. These organizations do not even need to know this prey item existed before the attack, they simply have the attitude that since you did it to that one, you did it to "one of their own" and they will retaliate and, again, the hunter becomes the hunted.

(This may be a good time to reconsider your options. Nature itself is suggesting by leveling the playing field that this was not desirable.)

What may not be understood by those who advocate this behavior, is that while the perpetrator of this atrocity against nature, is the exception to the rule, society will judge all of us by the example you have shown. This threatens all of us, and furthers our battle to be accepted, not feared, understood and seen as a non-threatening organism. By your act, you help condemn our entire community.

Humans, it is true, are considered a member of the animal family. Yet, humans were given abilities no other animal is given. We have the ability to think, to reason, to determine what an event "means, to remember events much longer than most animals do. We are also able to grow and produce our own food and inventions that make our lives easier, and safer. There are those who may be saying we cannot grow or produce blood. This is a true statement, but we do have the intelligence and have learned that there are substitutes for the blood we crave and may be used until a suitable donor may be found. These substitutes are posted all over the internet and are available to any vampire who wishes to find them. There are other vampires who are more than overjoyed to share which substitutes have helped them. They, most often, are not as satisfying, or do they last as long as the prefered food source, but they work, without harm to the vampire or other humans.

We as humans, are an intelligent species. Moreso than any other species in nature. It is time we act like it.

Vampiric Rape--Part III

Sometimes, the word rape is used colloquially to dysphemistically describe forms of non-sexual unwelcome conduct ("My team got raped on the field yesterday"), or metaphorically as in "the rape of the Earth" referring to environmental destruction, possibly implying a female gender of the Earth (Gaia). Other than in literary usage discussed above, this use of the term is unrelated to the original sense of "abduction" or "carrying off" and implies a comparison with sexual violation.

wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape_%28word%29

So... I hear you saying "Okay Okay, Lauren, but still all I did was, or want to do is, subdue them, cut them, and drink a little of their blood!! At most, it's assault!!" As far as legalities go, you happen to be right. In this society you would be charged with assault. IF you use a razor or some sort of blade to cut them, the charge would be aggravated assault--which, by the way, is felony assault, rather than a misdemeanor. You might want to think long and hard about whether that one feeding is worth a couple years of your life. Let's put that aside a moment and talk about why our laws make specific laws separating rape from assault. Obviously the law considers one different than the other and the penalties for each are vastly different. Why?

In both assault and rape, the victim is violated on many levels. As stated in Part I of these articles, the person is stripped of the sense of safety, they are often made to feel defenseless and unable to protect themselves, and thus, left vulnerable and unsafe in the world. This often inhibits their ability to function as they second-guess themselves in the most innocuous situations. It leaves them feeling "less-than" the person who attacked them, it creates in them anger/rage/hatred... both of themselves and the person who attacked them and often of anyone who reminds them of their attacker. I strips them of their rights to live freely without harm.

However, humans are intrinsically sexual creatures. They often build their identity around their gender, and sexuality. Humans are the only animal that use sex for pleasure, to declare and express love, and individuality. Their self-esteem is often highly motivated by their sexuality. In the secretions of the individuals are DNA and other biologically identifying markers. It is an intrusion of not only ones space and right to be unharmed, it is a violation of the person's very "soul" or "energy", if you prefer. It is also a transfer of YOUR energies to them and the transfer may be emotionally damaging if that person does not desire that type of interaction. While sexuality is such a very integral part of a human, it is also, one of the most protected and private parts of a human. We're taught, from an early age, how to use our sexuality to attract a mate so if we are attacked and raped, we're often accused of, or believe ourselves to have brought on the attack ourselves. We somehow sent the signal to violate us in the most private and debilitating way. Many times when this happens, a person is damaged emotionally to the point of sexual dysfunction, which interrupts the flow of reproduction of our species.

While humans are sexual creatures, they're also emotional creatures. The rape of a person does more than physical harm. It does emotional harm, it does harm to relationships, it does spiritual harm, it does financial harm. If the victim is a woman, and the physical harm is extreme enough, it does reproductive harm. Women are hard-wired to be mothers. Ever heard of the "biological clock". Most women are driven from a very young age, before they've even had time to be convinced this is their "role" to have babies and families. After such an attack, many of them are damaged sexually to the point this becomes a problem. They no longer take pride in themselves as a sexual creature, rather they hide it and cover it up. The affects of rape last long after the bruises and contusions of assault have healed. It robs one of their very identity in some cases and takes years, sometimes lifetimes, to overcome the negative effects of rape.

So, how does this reflect on forced vampiric feeding?

Simply, a vampire who is going to subdue a victim, cut them, and then suck their blood from the wound, has done the exact same thing a rapist has done to his/her victim. There is nothing more identifiably individual than one's blood. In the blood is the entire genome schematics of the person. The genes that determine their gender, is in blood. The genes that determine hair color, eye color, skin tone, height, weight tendencies, their entire DNA schematics is carried in the blood... Oh, Let's not forget... any disease or disorder is also carried in the blood. This very blood will be instrumental in reproduction. It's instrumental in the thermal stability of humans, it carries nutrients through the body. This is the very life-force of the being before you. The same is true of this sort of transfer, as in the sexual sense. The contact of bodily fluids, in this case the victim's blood, with the attacker's saliva, can endanger the heath, at best, and the life, at worst, of both individuals. Since the actual goal of the vampire is "energy", basically the same thing two people share during sexual activity, the vampire is forcing the transference of energies from one to another. The vampire is STEALING the victim's very "essence" and forcing his/her own on the victim. Society doesn't accept the reality of vampires.

Therefore, they would have to

1.) declare vampires real.

2.) Legally define a vampire

3.) Legally define what makes a vampire different than a non-vampire

4.) Legally define what a vampire needs to survive, and what they have a right to do in order to gain those needs

5.) Set precedence regarding undesirable acts by those who legally fit the definition of "vampire".

We are, likely, not going to see this in our life-times. However, WE know what we are. We know what defines us, and WE know right from wrong. We know, what our behaviors do to those around us and how those behaviors negatively affect us, or further our existence. The legal systems of our societies may not have binding law that governs what we do, or punishes those of us who violate others. However, you're not off the hook. The majority of the vampire community knows what they believe is right and wrong, and within their own society, they will do what they can to enforce their own "laws".

Referring once again to the safeguards that protect the "circle of life" I have two words to say to you... "Vampire" and "hunters". It is because of vampires like those who assault and vampirically rape victims that these nutjobs still hunt us. Some of them are not 13 yr old pimply face kids. Vampiric Rape, just like Rape in the legal definition, puts everyone in the same "group" as the rapist, in danger. How many times have we heard "men only want one thing", "all men are rapists", "men are heartless animals". All because of those who do rape. THAT is why we vampires cannot walk freely amongst our Non-vampiric counter-parts. It is why we are feared, misunderstood, and hated. This type of attitude among vampires is why we cannot proudly say, "I'm a vampire"--Which by the way, is something I AM proud of, and would be proud to proclaim.

Vampiric Rape--Part IV

I want to bring up a very practical topic if one is considering vampiric rape. Health risks. If you've read this far, and you still think this practice is A-OK, I feel safe in saying you don't care about your victim and your only consideration is yourself and meeting your own desires. So, let's talk about you.

For the past 20 or so years, the ingestion, or contact of body fluids has come to be physically threatening, in some cases life threatening. While there are potentially threatening diseases that the victim may contract due to your attack, YOU are at the most risk, in most senerios. If you are accidentally cut in the tussle with your victim, your victim's risks increase. But we've, for the sake of this article, decided the victim isn't important. You will be
ingesting their blood. Are you comfortable with the risks of feeding from an untested individual? I dont care if you have known the person 10 years. Do
you know every person they've slept with? Do you know every job they've had and that they have never come in contact with infected blood on the job. Nurses and medical staff aren't the only ones to come in contact with blood.

While looking around and putting my thoughts together on this, I found a post by Rikkar and a reply by HerrDraggon and have asked their
permission to use them in this article. They both gave me permission. I do not think I
can say it better than they have. Special thanks to Rikkar and Dawn.

[Rikkar]
HIV and HEPC are blood borne diseases and, guess what, can be caught by ingesting blood! I believe that falls into the category of a "no brainer".
I remember a blather going around the community that one cannot contract the ills from ingesting blood. Guess what, boys and girls, this is a fallacy.

HIV and HEPC cannot be caught through contact with unbroken skin. Now, how many of us have completely unbroken skin in our mouths? How many of us have perfect gum health and have no bitten lips, sores, or whatnot?

Assuming you raised your hand and said that you have perfect oral health, are you willing to stake your life on this? And what about stomach
ulcers, "acid reflux", or any number of other ails that compromise this?

Stomach acid has been said to kill the fragile HIV virus. However, are you willing to risk your life that the lining of your gastrointestinal tract is pristine? The diseases that can be caught by the blood drinker are much more than just a cold or the flu (which can also be caught). Any and all blood borne diseases can be caught by contact of blood upon any unbroken skin.

Any consumption of blood, be it by taking direct from the donor or using a syringe or other indirect method is going to bring you in contact with the wee beasties in that Donor's blood.

This goes for Donors as well. I do not recall the HIV viral load in saliva and know it is quite low. Last I heard there was no instance of transmission of the HIV virus via saliva itself. However, that is "last I heard", which was some time ago.

Now, given the above statement, do you wish to have some unknown vampire's mouth upon your open wound? The HIV retrovirus is present in saliva. Do you want to be the first case I have heard of where the virus is transmitted via saliva?

I do not know if the Blood Bars are still around. Back "in the day" there were underground establishments where Donors and Vampires (or blood fetishists) went to have, basically, casual feedings. I never went to them but I heard of them in San Francisco. Even in the 80's before the AIDS epidemic I knew enough of disease to know this was a very, very bad idea from a disease standpoint only. I am not going into any other of my views on this in
this post.

Basically, drinking blood or allowing intimate consumption of your blood is the same as unsafe sex. These days you have to be rather an idiot to have unsafe sex without knowing the disease status of your partner. I know vampires who indulge in this and it is, basically, like putting a bullet in a revolver, putting it to your head, and pulling the trigger. Eventually there shan't be a "click", rather there shall be a "BOOM!".

I have been an active vampire for 31 years. I have never contracted a virus nor given one. I might have gotten a cold or flu bug from sleeping with my Lovers, like any normal person. I am not saying I am perfect for I have not always insisted upon an HIV test (a couple of times) and this has been extremely risky, though I, for the vast most part, have been very cautious in this. This is bad and dangerous practice on my part. I am lucky that I have not caught it. Suffice it to say that if someone 30+ years awakened can survive disease free, it is possible.

Another thing :
In the "day" of the 80's, some of us "real vampires" (not me of course) believed we were immune to HIV because we are vampires damnit and vampires do not contract disease. It appears that this preconception is dwindling, thank the gods. I am not saying there is not a race of vampires out there that is immune to disease.

However, I say, especially to the Donors... do you want to risk it upon the word of avampire? To the vampires I say... do you want to risk your life upon a untried and untested hypothesis that you are immune? Gods the things I saw in the 80's.

I know not a single vampire personally who does not come with the factory installed Human genome. Anyone with the Human genome is susceptible to a retrovirus. HIV is a retrovirus that actually rewrites your genetics for you.

Please do not take the risk.

If I am making anyone a little bit nervous and a mite paranoid, I have one word for this...

Good.

That is my intent.

[Dawn]
Speaking as someone that has a close relative with AIDS, I have to say that anyone that ingests blood would have to have a suicide wish, and desire a long, drawn out, painful death, to indiscriminately drink from people that they do not know the medical history of.

We do not even do much skin to skin contact with my nephew anymore, and the doctors tell us his bloodwork comes back near normal at this time.

AIDS mutates. And when something mutates, it is unpredictable. The digestive tract has the express purpose of taking things that are swallowed, and absorbing parts of it into your body's system. Even if there is no unbroken skin, it is stupid in the extreme to wish to introduce something that could have mutated and will be absorbed.

AIDS is not a pretty way to die. If you are stupid enough to go and take in body fluids from someone that you don't know, then prepare to spend weeks or months lying in bed, catching every disease that comes around, wearing oxygen masks, unable to eat, viewing your family and friends through a sheet of plastic, untouched, alone, even with them there.

And enjoy your drink.

Furthermore, the obvious lack of hygenic safety in taking an unwilling victim is a consideration also, unless you intend to take your own "wash kit", and "antibacterial soap" and scrub down your victim before you cut them and put your mouth on their bleeding wound. This sounds highly impractical to me with a squirming, resisting, struggling and combative partner.

finally, I would like to leave you with this.

As humans, our bodies are created in such a way that if the body has a deficiency, we will crave the substances that provide the subject of the craving. Hypoglycemics, when sugar levels drop, will crave candy, or fruit or foods that contain sugar. When ones potassium levels drop, the individual may crave potatoes or bananas. Whatever method of delivery that will satisfy that deficiency.

Often the slightest deviations in the levels of the deficient element, will be noticed by the individual. Subsequently, the balancing of that deficiency, even in the slightest, will create a strong level of recovery.

It is the same with vampires. Vampires, for whatever reason one might speculate, and it is a matter of much and varied speculation as to why, crave energy. When that vampire becomes deficient in energy they feel drained, ill, out of control... and generally horrible.

Nature did not forget the vampire. You as a vampire are suited with many and varied strengths, attributes, virtues, charm, intelligence, wit and intuition (empathic or psychic). THESE are your tools and methods of gaining sustenance.

Let me tell you a true story about two dear friends of mine. I knew the gentleman before the lady so I can promise you I know these things about him. This man was and had been as long as I knew him, a "goody-two-shoes". Very conservative, very intuitive... yes, but very strict in his morals and ethics. He was what you call a "straight arrow". Well, this man met a lady, and she was charming in the extreme. She was physically beautiful, but not movie-star beautiful. Still there was something about her he could not resist. She fell madly in love with him also. One afternoon, when he had come home from work, they chatted online. She was noticeably nervous, and distant, although he could feel she wanted to draw closer. She was afraid of something. He asked her what was up. She said she could not tell him online but she could only tell him in person or on the phone. He called her and when she answered, she stammered and stuttered and he, trying to make it easier on her, said...

Are you trying to tell me you're bisexual? She said, No. He asked if she was married... again no. He had NEVER heard of a real vampire and had it been anyone else but her, he might have done totally different than what he did. But he told her he'd sit with her until she felt safe in telling him. She blurted out... "I'mavampire!" He, hesitated slightly and responded...

So?

She was surprised and relieved.

Now, this man, and I know him well, would not have accepted that without question from anyone else. He would have questioned, and gone off to think, and would have read all he could, but he would have questioned. Even had he still accepted, he would NOT have been her donor. It would have just been too weird. Yet, this man became her donor. Why? Well, yes, because he loves her. But also because of her innate charm, charisma, and ability to attract people to her. He's not the only one attracted to her. She's not your typical girl next door, and he was raised with conservative values, and a very bigoted family... yet all of them said... I can't help but love the girl!

This is the gift of every vampire I've ever met. Some recognize this in themselves, and some haven't yet. What I do know is if you're a vampire, the gift is there, waiting to be cultivated. Vampires seem to have an innate ability to sense who is, and is not, open to the reality of vampirism. It's almost like a radar.

Vampires are the most exciting, captivating and intriguing people I've ever met. We seem to be able to "will" others to do our bidding... when we choose to. We can be some of the most intensely uncomfortable people to be around when we're not happy, I've ever met.

Any vampire who uses force, to get a donor (victim), is wasting, betraying, and demeaning him/herself. I do not know a vampire alive who has to resort to force to find a donor. I do know there are times when a donor is not available for a good amount of time, and for the vampire it may feel like forever. There ARE good substitutes though, and will keep you going until you find a willing donor.

Let me also say, there are all sorts of energy. The vampire is a vain ol thing. I have never met a vampire who did not want to be the subject of admiration. These are the most satisfying and sustaining energies for nearly every vampire I have met. True, there are those who will enjoy, from time to time, something different, and may want the energies of fear (which may make the vampire feel powerful), or anger, but even those, will be rejuvenated most by admiring energies. Love, Strength, admiration, appreciation, peace and trust. It is when a vampire has these, they are most content, they reach their potential more aptly and are generally happy vampires.

If you're newly awakened, you may not recognize these things in yourself yet. Reach out to an elder, find a mentor, let them help you open these qualities in yourself.

A sensitive topic that was handled very well. Very well-written.

I think so too. You cover all the reasons, both ethical and practical, for avoiding this kind of behavior.

There is one extra bit to add... Humans are omnivores, which means we are predators sometimes. That means that if you are a predator that preys on humans, you are dealing with something that is designed to hunt back. That's dangerous, even on its' own. Add to that the fact humans are instinctively pack animals, and it's approaching the situation that a lone lion gets into when dealing with jackals. (It's even worse than that, but it illistrates the point.) One lion can take one jackal, no problem. But a lion will run from a jackal because where there's one, there's a pack... and that pack will look at a lone lion as food.

In my experience, any vampire that views themselves as a predator sees themselves as a lone predator, similar to a large cat like a jaguar or tiger. They see non-vampiric humans as prey, like cattle or such. The problem is that humans are closer to jackals in nature than cattle. No solitary predator in their right mind would attack a pack omnivore.

I loved the way this was written. You've done well. ! :)
