Ah yes the age old debate. pertsonally - my take on it is it CAN be either or both, can be passed down geneticly, or thru bloodlines in a non genetic fashion, or the other option is ones spirit simply "moves into" a body where the bloodline or family line has no history of such things. i cant see why either can not happen, myself.
help any?

I don't know if it's genetic or not. I have no knowledge of another one in my family. But I also believe you're either born that way or you're not. Some vamps never have any clue as to what they are. They spend countless hours in a psychiatrist's office trying to figure out what's wrong with them and VAMPIRE is never on the list.
I also am a firm believer that while people RP and LS, playing vampire and otherkin, then that's what they are (every one is an actor and life is merely a stage) That does not mean I'm saying ALL are playing, just a few. And, one needs to be ever vigilant, because those types are the ones that usually wind up on TV and give the rest of us a bad name.

It was my thought that for ANYTHING to be passed down other than to program each generation with brain washing, and such, and addiction, that it had to be passed down geneticlly.
Now, there are instances both ways, where there are families that are vampriirc.
And then there are the families where it is not seen anywhere else.
All this becomes convoluted because of all the god damn RP/LSers.
So I think that this entire discussion is irrelevent until we discover a method to be able to prove geneticlly, that vampirism is a real thing. Once we find a gene or something, then we have a basis.
Because, unless you can prove there is a vampire that is a real vampire, you have to take people at their word, and I normally don't.

RS: role player (it's all a game to them and they have no idea who the fuck they're messing with.)
LS: life styler (goes around dressed goth and claiming to be a vampire. Kinda like a drag queen)
